Kisumu County Assembly’s Committee of Health and Sanitation chaired by Hon. Vincent Jagongo today held a consultative meeting with Network for Adolescent and Youth of Africa (NAYA) Kenya in collaboration with other civil society organizations and the County’s department of Health to deliberate on the proposed Kisumu County Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare Bill, 2024.

The proposed legislation provides for the right to reproductive health-care, sets the standards of reproductive health and also provides for the right to make decisions regarding reproductive health.

The proposed legislation which has been facilited by NAYA Kenya was officially handed over to the County’s department of Health to look into it before it’s brought to the County Assembly for processing.
