Legal Services Department
Provides professional legal services and advice to the County Assembly, the County Assembly Service Board, the Clerk, Speaker, Members and Committees. Its mandate includes legal advice and opinions; interpretation of laws and Bills; drafting of Private Members’ Bills and amendments; legal review of Bills for constitutional and statutory compliance; legal research; representation of the Assembly and CASB in court proceedings; coordination with the County Attorney and external counsel; handling and filing of legal documents; and provision of other legal services required for the effective functioning and governance of the Assembly.
