Kisumu County Executive Committee Members, accompanied by their senior technical officers today appeared before respective Sectoral Committees to discuss the proposed budget estimates for FY 2024/2025.

The meeting reviewed the departmental performance of the current budget ( FY 2023/2024) and looked into the proposed county strategic priorities, programmes, and projects for the FY 2024/2025 (to validate if the departmental priorities are aligned with the Governors Manifesto, CIDP III and CADP FY 2024/2025).

Key issues discussed included measures to address the accumulated pending bills, Departmental absorption rate, and revenue raising measures to finance the proposed budget estimates.

The departments which appeared before the Assembly today included Trade Tourism Marketing and Industry; Infrastructure, Energy and Public Works; Kisumu County Public Service Board; Lands, Physical Planning and Urban Development; and Education, Human Resource Development and ICT.

Other departments are lined up to appear for budget interrogation on Tuesady and Wednesday.
